Delightful Read

This book is just a joy to read. Although I only have 3 kids (albeit all 3 under 3) I can relate to the mother and so I can put so much into my reading. My 2 1/2 year old twins will just sit there and listen to the whole book and then start with the "Again. Read Again. Again!" I have had to read it 5 times in a row from beginning to end for 2 1/2 year olds - truly amazing!

Perfect book for children 2-8

My children are 2, 4, and 6. Each is completely captivated by this book. The rhymes are almost Seuss like in their simplicity but the vocabulary is broader. After a dozen readings, each child plays the game of finishing the line.

The illustrations build and offer many opportunities for questions like 'how many cats?' and offer wonderful sub plots.

And for the parents, it offers a comical view of our lives as we try and satisfy the whims of our children's' appetites.

Incredible Book!

This is such a fabulous book! Every time I read it to my 2-year-old, I am amazed by the skill and quality of the writing and rhyming. My daughter loves it too!

My daughter's favorite book...

This book completely captured my almost 6 year old daughter's attention. We had to read it to her at least twice daily for several weeks before she'd let us read another book. She liked it so much that she finally started trying to read it herself (with our help). That is the first book that has caught her attention long enough to cause her to want to try and read. We will be buying more books by this author in the near future.

Lovely read, definitely a favorite.

We randomly selected this book from the library, loved it so much and bought our own copy. My 3year old loves the story about the seven silly, picky eaters and my 1 year old enjoys it as well. The kids love the melodic rhymes, vibrant illustrations, and subtle details about the family itself.

Great read! We are reading more of this author.
