Educational and interesting

I knew so little about the war in the Sudan and the "lost boys" and yet I had no idea just how little I understood. This was such a wonderful book in that this sad, devistating childhood has been turned into an enlightning and educational story.
It reminds me a little of Angela's Ashes or Glass Castle in this sense.
Everyone I have given this book to has really enjoyed it. It will make you investigate some of the situations going on in the world right now a little more.

Educational and quite entertaining

If you don't know much about the Lost Boys of Sudan, you will find this book even more educational than I did. However, having heard and read much about the Lost Boys already, much of this story was known to me and some value was lost. However, I still learned quite a bit from this book.

The strong point, though, is the storytelling and entertainment value of this book. The story is personal, sad, and downright funny. There were two sections dealing with conservative African culture in particular that almost had me rolling on the ground. The humor and different perspective definitely helps cut the depressing subject matter.

An inticing read

What is the What shows the horrors in Sudan, like many other African nations today, are facing through the eyes of a transformed young boy.

What is the What

A unique look at history through the eyes of a young Sudanese boy as he walks from a devasting childhood to a hopeful future. The book allows the reader to take a look inside oneself and grow as a global disciple. Not a dry, grim non-fiction but a well-written journal to be enjoyed.
