Fantastic

Another smash hit from Jeffrey Archer. I couldn't put the book down. Loved it!!!

A GREAT READ!

This is one of the best books that I have read this year. I love Mr. Arhcer's characters and his ability to surprise. This would be a great book to take on vacation.

READ STANDING AT THE SCRATCH LINE BY GUY JOHNSON

For all you Dumas fans...especially the Count of Monte Cristo.....read Standing at the Scratch Line by Guy Johnson.

Suspend reality and be swept away...

This is a wonderful Archer fantasy - with great sweeps of plotting twists and turns. Archer actually spent time in the prison to which his character Danny is sent - even keeping a diary as another of his leading characters does (See: A Prison Diary). He spent time in the courts he described and lived much of the accomplishments of both the protagonists and antagonists of the book. This gives the book a wonderful underlying core of reality - even when the delightful plot line stretches to the incredible.

With a cast of characters you can't help but root for and against, great court scenes, banter and insights into the british court system and ever-so-secretive world of Swiss bankers - it's just plain a great read I didn't want to put down.

I would have given it 5-stars, but then it still didn't live up to my favorite of his The Fourth Estate. Also, new readers of Archer should be forewarned - he does like detail. But the details are important to his stories - and told in a capturing way.
