Wonderful!
I enjoyed this
book
so much. The characters are well developed and all extremely endearing, each in their own unique way. I loved the relationships that emerged among unlikely pairs and the depth of their emotions. The ending was bittersweet, but realistic. I will look forward to reading other works by this author.
Great book! Quick read! Looked forward each night to coming home to read!
This was an excellent
book
. Very easy to read, and easy to fall in love with each of the characters! Just one of those books that I was sorry to see end... I just ordered Carry Me Home, and hope I'm just as pleased!

Put everything down
You will need to put everything down and do nothing but read this
book
. It will keep you turning pages until you get to the last one. I don't usually read a book this quickly but I could not put it down.
Poor Jewel needed Freeda to come into her life to save her marriage. Everyone needed Freeda's spark of life in their lives. And Button needed Winnalee as much as Winnalee needed her.
You will not be disappointed by this book. Now I have to read the author's other book.

Did NOT want this one to end!
I read all the time but I do not often find a read as sweet/happy/sad/funny as this one!! I truly did not want the story to be over!! And then when it was, could not stop thinking about it. This is the first Sandra Kring
book
I have read, but have now ordered "Carry Me Home". Also, I infrequently email authors, but I did email this author to let her know how much I truly enjoyed this book!!
Sweet and satisfying read
Nearly all the reviews (minus the oddly closed minded woman) reveal wonderful tidbits about the story of Buttons and Winnalee. I need not go into any more explanation of the plot or characters, but state that I have never wanted to review a
book before
on Amazon...and I really want to rate this one. It has been THE book I have been recommending to my friends and one I will keep on the bookshelf to read again. It is the manner inwhich Ms. Kring spins the story that completely draws me in. The memories of being a little girl; and how we looked at the adults, our parents, other children and our perception of ourself---it all comes back when I read this. I feel so strongly for Buttons and Winnalee, but I also find a little piece of my childlike soul while I read "The Book of
Bright
Ideas
." It is not about beautiful women who have money and momentum, but about life moving slowly with all the sticky hot days and sweetness that comes from opening yourself to what life has to offer. Get this book (particularly if you are over 40) and remember what you were like when you were 10 years old.
