This book is full of good news and solid answers

Drawing deeply from the wellsprings of the Bible, the wisdom of the Church, and his own experience, Scott Hahn reflects simply yet profoundly on the nitty-gritty of life, love, relationships, marriage and family, all in the context of the bedrock doctrines of the Christian faith. His retelling of the story of our salvation in Jesus Christ opens us to the truth of our origin and destiny in the one God, a Trinity of divine Persons who abide in a communion of love -- a love stronger than sin and death. This book is full of good news and solid answers to life's toughest questions.

I wish I were a millionaire

If I were rich I'd buy copies of this book and give them away. Scott has done it again! This book not only makes the trinity more understandable, he's done it in a way that makes me feel comfortable to recommend this book to my Protestant family and friends. One of the nicest things about this book is the very genuine respect that the author has for his wife and the role that women play in the scheme of things. Note to any feminists out there, Kimberly Hahn is a writer herself, and a fine one, as well as being a terrific speaker, and scripture teacher, in her spare time that is, since her primary vocation is as a wife and mother. Unlike some Christian writers attitude towards their wives which even when respectful seems patronizing, Dr, Hahn's respect for Kimberly is not patronizing in the least.

This book calls us on to better family life and to a greater appreciation for the real family that we are meant to be part of. Now if I could just find enough money for 10 more copies...

INSPIRING

This is Mr Hahn's best book so far. It is written in a style which is indicative of a man who is very comfortable and happy in his faith and family. The most dificult doctrine that of the Trinity is discussed and tied together with the ideals of the family and Church. The book is not a treatise on the Trinity but I came away with a deeper scriptural and philosophical understanding of the Trinity and is an excellent starting point for anyone seeking further knowledge on the topic. Very satisfying !

Interesting, insightful, enjoyable and easy-to-read

Intensely interesting, rich with important insights, and buoyed by an exuberant and engaging tone, "First Comes Love" is an intricate retelling of the central message of the Christian faith: the Trinity as Family. Scott Hahn explains the Blessed Trinity, the Church, and our kinship with both in a way that will sweep you up and carry you higher. Great stuff. I really enjoyed it.

A lively & very readable book-filled with practical insights

Dr. Hahn has the gift of being able to integrate the evangelical enthusiasm of his youth, the scholarship of his mature years, and the Catholic Tradition into a lively and very readable whole. "First Comes Love" fills a deep yearning for human solidarity and for spiritual life in the soul of our post-September 11 America. Indeed, this book is full of helpful insights about the meaning of God, Church, marriage and family. In his "Sources and References" (in the back), Dr. Hahn provides a rich resource for further study. I am deeply grateful for this book.
