highly recommended

The only bedtime story.

I was first introduced to this book when i was about 3 or 4. I am now 24 and my dad can still recite this book from memory because it was the only bedtime story my brother and i wanted to hear. It's an imaginative story with fun illustrations. When i have children, this book will surely be on their shelf.

My all-time favorite kid's book

I bought this book for my niece (who isn't born yet), though I know she won't understand it for years. I can't wait to read it to her! This was my favorite book as a kid. I can still picture the giant piles of butter and jam being spread on the bread. Yumm....

Great for Gifts!

This is one of my favorites as I kid. I can remember my elementary school librarian reading it to me. It is now my children's favorite as well. It is a great gift to give to children of any age!

My son loved it

This story was a wonderful one. I am glad I bought the book for my son. He is a child that doesn't like to read much, but he loved reading this book and looking at all the wonderful pictures that are in the book. If your children like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs or Pickles to Pittsburgh, I think your kids will love this book as much as my son did.

Still my favorite after 34 years

My brother got this book as part of the Weekly Reader Book Club books in the early 70s. From the first time my parents read the book to me, it was my favorite. Now I have 2 kids of my own and I still consider it my favorite children's book. When we spend the night at my parents, I start reading this book to my kids at bedtime and before I know it my parents are sitting on the edge of the bed listening too. It is a must have.
