Jane Whitefield is a force to be reckoned with.

Thomas Perry presents another gripping tale of suspense, revenge and honesty. Timothy Phillips, the only heir to a mega-fortune just wants to live to see his next birthday. Mary Perkins needs to disappear. The only person who can help them both is Jane Whitefield, the Seneca woman who makes people turn into ghosts - in more ways than one. Jane is able to help them both start a new life, but she ends up putting her own in jeopardy. This time she can't help but take her work home with her. Great story about some extremely strong women who together dance for the dead - past, present and future

A Delicious New Twist to the Mystery Genre!

Jane Whitefield, in her guise as a guide for people who must disappear is filled with exciting new material. It's the most original offering in mystery books in many years. The author understands strong, gutsy women, yet presents them without any loss to their femininity. Wealth of detail about ways to disappear, humanity, love, strength and courage. To do all this within the framework of a story that keeps one's emotions on a perpetual roller coaster, in this well plotted and delicious story is proof of author Thomas Perry's skill at his craft.

Taut, hypnotic, cunning, provocative and one of the best books I've read in a long time. Raises mysteries to new heights. A pleasant change from the fluff offered up these days!

Book of the Year Nominee

Fast paced, pulse fluttering, this book definitely deserved its place as a Mystery Guild Book of the Year Nominee. From the start the reader is caught up in Jane Whitefield's dangerous lifestyle. Publishers Weekly even called this book a "riveting mystery thriller." Don't miss it! You won't be disappointed

A Jane Whitefield Novel

It amazes me that a man wrote this book. The female charactersare very well developed, strong and clever. The story moves along at a brisk clip and the ending is very satisfying. I would like to see more interaction between Jane and Carey in future books. (I hope they have a future!) The dialogue between the two of them is fun and sparkling. The incident with the beeper was priceless. I guess I'll have to break down and buy the next Jane Whitefield novel in hardback. I can't wait!
