Baby Food
This is a great book. It has really helpful info about starting your baby on solids
Nice pictures, recipes work, but baby doesn't like it.
This book has nice pictures and give me ideas on what to cook for my infant. It gave me pretty good idea on what to cook. I tried a few recipes and they turned out pretty good for an adult like me. However, my baby doesn't like most of them! The recipes are more complicated than I would like. I spent a lot of time purchasing the ingredients, and cooking them, hoping that my baby would enjoy at least some of it! But he does not like these complicated dishes! What a waste of time and money.

realistic?
as a
first time
parent, this book gives me useful information as what kind of food i can prepare for my baby. however, as the baby grow older (toddler) the food became more creative and realtistically it is hard to prepare those kinds of fancy food everyday. But it really gives me the idea of what kind of variety i can do. and it gives me an idea of certain ingredients work with certain type of food. basically this book is a regular recipe that you can use for personal reference not only for our children. The food taste great even for me to eat.
Great ideas, but tons of work
I was excited to get this book, fearing that because of hectic schedules, we were relying on too many pre-processed foods for my 1 1/2 year old son. This book was a great idea source, it helped me to realize all the possibilities I had in feeding him and that there were things he was old enough to try that I hadn't thought of. I have so far tried three of the recipes though, and I have to say, they aren't for people who don't want to spend the better part of their days in the kitchen. The prep times and cooking times, I found way off. I spent about 2 hours and 45 minutes on a dish that claimed to take 35 minutes total, and I'm no novice cook, I swear. They are absurdly time consuming. My son liked 2 out of 3 that I've tried, and my husband loved them too, they are great recipes. Besides the amount of time and effort these recipes call for, I'm also not thrilled with the fact that the majority of these call for frying. I thought we were all pretty clear that frying wasn't healthy? But it does taste good and I guess that the overload of veggies is making up for it? Anyway I recommend it with the warning that most of these are not fast and easy. But they are loaded with all kinds of healthy foods that I wouldn't have otherwise introduced to him. So overall it's a great guide, even if I'll be modifying the recipes from now on to cut out time and maybe the frying part.

Great Great Great
Everything I have ever made from this book has been enthusiastically enjoyed by both of my children from
first bites
onward. It is wonderful to have some basic recipies that include a wide variety of vegetables and combinations of ingredients.
Some other reviewers seem overwhelmed by the artistry of presentation of some of the items for older children - however, these are clearly for parties and special occasions. I made the gelatin boats for my daughter's second birthday - they were actually quite easy and were a HUGE hit. However, manicotti does not need doll's heads and perfectly centered cheese blankets on a weekday night! I just make the recipie and avoid the decoration. It still tastes great and looks fine.
I love that the book is short, sweet and fairly comprehensive. Vegetables, fish and meat are all covered, and it is easy to follow the menu plans.
This book gives clear ideas for delicious
meals that
can be pre-made, frozen and re-heated for any age child. Should you wish, there are some delightful presentation ideas that an older toddler would love on special occasions. I love this book and have had great success with everything in it. Leeks are not exotic ingredients!!
