Awesome

Granted, I am a big fan of Bono but I still find this book inspiring and heartbreaking. I downloaded the speech from the National Prayer Breakfast the day after he spoke and have used it numerous times in my activities for the ONE Campaign. That speech combined with Bono's photos can change someone's heart and mind.

challenged by this book

Wow! This book was incredbily moving and inspiring. It made me ask questions about my life and what I am doing to help solve this problem. Funny how in the end Bono's greatest legacy will be not for the incredible rock and roll he entertained us with but the millions of Africans he saved. I ordered five more books to give to my friends to challenge them to help solve the problem and as Bono would say provide justice.

On The Move Review

If you have never thought about helping those who can't help themselves, this is an easy way to get motivated. It's also a great way to think bigger about what ONE individual can do for the people of this world. Bono is such an amazing inspiration. You can never look at your life the same after reading this book and seeing the real-life pictures.

Wonderful Book

Bono is so inspiring. He's not afraid to speak out, and he manages to reach everyday people like me as well as our national authorities. The book sent goosebumps up and down my arms as the pictures were paired with the words of Bono's National Prayer Breakfast prayer. This is a definite must-read.

Book Review: On The Move by Bono

When Bono, the lead singer of U2, was asked to speak at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC in 2006, no one knew what to expect. The same is true when one opens this small yet powerful book. The pages are filled with the words of Bono's speech and with photographs that he himself took on his first trip to Ethiopia in 1986.

Though On The Move is a restatement of Bono's speech, it is also a call to action. It tells the story of how Bono became involved with relief efforts in Africa and how we as Americans can bring about change on the African continent. Bono reports that America currently gives less than one percent of the federal budget to foreign assistance.

As he pointedly states, "Look at what happened in Southeast Asia with the Tsunami. 150,000 lives lost to that misnomer of all misnomers, `mother nature.' In Africa, 150,000 lives are lost every month. A tsunami every month. And it's a completely avoidable catastrophe."

Bono's words are moving and the reader will be challenged to become a part of the solution for Africa. And readers can begin by simply purchasing the book. All royalties from On The Move are being donated to The ONE Campaign.
