Great book for bereaved parents

After our first son was stillborn at 34 weeks, I bought a lot of books hoping to find answers and feel less alone. This was one of the best. At the end of each chapter, there are key points to remember and it also gives suggestions for things you can do. It also makes you feel less "weird" for some of the things you would like to do. Though I wish no parent needed this book, it is a great book if you lost a baby.

Empty Cradle, Broken Heart: Surviving the Death of Your Baby

This is a great book. The chapters are very easy to follow and the points to remember at the end of each chapter are great to refer back to whenever you need them. We were in a place we never thought we would be, but this book made us feel we were not alone. Our son was stillborn and it was nice to read what other people felt, because sometimes you think you are going crazy and really you are not.

Reommended Resource for Grieving Grandparents

Davis gently offers information surrounding the concerns Mothers and Fathers have about the loss of their baby. Most importantly Davis gives accurate use of the term Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and the differences between this medical mystery and other infant deaths. It is a great resource for parents of adult children and grandparents because it gives insight into what the parents are going through, as well as it explains how to tell children about death. Grandparents will also learn how to support their children through the grief process, knowing we all go down this path of grief together, yet it is a uniquely personal journey.

A "Must Have" for those suffering a loss

After the stillbirth of my baby girl, I was completely lost and devastated. I felt very alone....like nobody understood. Somebody gave this book to me, and it was as if all of my thoughts and emotions were being validated and described perfectly. It guided me through the many difficult questions and decisions that needed to be made, and gave me a true sense of hope for my future. On my daughter's one year anniversary, I purchased several of these books to donate to the hospital to give to other hurting moms who might also suffer such a tragic loss. I would highly recommend this book...to help with the hurting and begin the healing!!!

Excellent source of comfort and reading for bereaved parents

After our precious baby girl was stillborn at 20 weeks, I searched for a book that would help me through my grief, provide some answers, and confirm that there is no timetable to healing. I was in a sad place I never thought I'd be in and this book made me feel I was not alone. This was the first one I read and I found it to be very comprehensive. The chapters and sections within are very easy to follow and the points to remember at the conclusion of each chapter is great to refer back to now and then. While it is written in a thoughtful and sensitive manner, it does not preach. Nor does it tell a story of one person's account, but rather includes brief comments by parents who suffered a loss. I did not want to read someone else's story to try to connect with mine. I would recommend this book to other parents who have also had the devastating misfortune of losing a baby. If you have, your healing means always remembering.
