These will be remembered

It's hard to say what will last, but these movies are so well-crafted in their characters, emotional plotlines, and special effects that it's hard to believe people won't still love this movie ten years down the road. Amazing amount of special features, including four different commentary tracks.

What more can anyone say?

I can't tell you how wonderful, magical, and endearing these films have become, even if it's been almost five years since this magnificent trilogy ended that Wednesday Dec 17, 2003. Peter Jackson effortlessly brings together one of the most difficult yet most rewarding film projects to life with brilliant storytelling, direction, and a screenplay that is amazing to say the least. I don't think another fantasy film will even compare to LOTR despite their best efforts. Narnia can certainly try but when all is said and done, this One Ring really does rule over all!

This is a great set for the enthusiast. If you have read the books, it really brings the stories all together and even goes in to why they changed some things for the movie. All the extras are really interesting.

The extended scenes in this version add new dimension and deeper understanding to the storyline and enhance the version shown in the theatrical release.

Deserves more than 5 stars!

This is an amazing set, the best there is. Incredible films. I am a huge LOTR fan and collector, and this was a MUST. Definitely the ultimate in movie trilogy's... to be part of Middle Earth, nothing like it!
