Predictable, though enjoyable
If you've read The Devil Wears Prada, consider yourself already having a basic idea of what goes on in
Everyone
Worth
Knowing
. A small-town girl lands a job with celebrities and fashion designers, despite not having any prior knowledge or experience with either of those fields (much like Devil Wears Prada). Her parents are upset with her decision (parallel with DWP). Excels at her new job (again, DWP). Forced to abandon her personal life and friends to go overseas on New Year's Eve (DWP). Walks out on new job feeling that she has higher self-worth and doesn't really give a bubble about celebs or designers and decides to write for a living (DWP - seeing a pattern here?). Really, there isn't a big difference between these two books.
The reason I gave it 4 stars is because I actually liked The Devil Wears Prada, and since these two were so very similar, I liked this one as well. It's a little predictable (like who Ellie Insider's identity really is), has some humor to it, and is overall written in a good tempo. There were some parts I couldn't wait to see what happened next, and others where I really would have preferred to skip.
Don't read this book if you're not at all into fashion or celebrity life, because that's really what this is all about. How PR firms cater to celebrities and give them special treatment - and it also shares what life would be like living under a microscope and having your every move photographed for the rest of the world (including your parents) to see. This certainly isn't ground-breaking literature, but it does provide entertainment. Bette, the main character, is easy to relate to in some aspects because for the most part, we've all been there: stuck in a job we don't like, faced with how to tell your best friend her fiancé is a scumbag, actually enjoying unemployment for a while, and having no clue what to do with her career.
If you liked The Devil Wears Prada, you'll probably like this book. If you didn't like her first novel, don't read this one.

Good read
I won't recount the storyline, as you can easily find plenty of that in other reviews. I have to say, I enjoyed this book, It was somewhat predictable, but fun nonetheless. It's a great beach/airplane/vacation read.
