This Hit Close To Home

Being a 4-1/2 year survivor of breast cancer and also active on the internet, I found this book almost too real to be fiction. I felt like I truly knew these two women, for I am these two women in so many ways. The author being a survivor herself, certainly was able to describe to a tee what the feelings are when diagnosed, going through treatment and the fears of recurrence. This book will make you weep with happiness and sadness all at the same time. Everyone women should read this and not be afraid of its contents.

Great Read!

This is one of the most touching books i have read in a long time. While i have not been diagnosed with breast cancer, i have watched others...and the spirit between these two online friends is so inspirational...it is sad, but uplifiting...the story has made me reflect on the value of my friendships with other women...if only we could all have a Susan or a Lara in our lives. The conversations between these two women about their children are terrific, especially about their teenage daughters...i think someone has been eavesdropping at my house! I confess I could not put the book down until the last few pages; i needed courage to finish those last pages. I hope we see more from this author!

A note to the author:

This morning, this book arrived on my doorstep. The note attached read: This is a one year anniversary gift celebrating your strength and courage. We hope it helps you heal the wounds that are hidden deep inside of you. Love Always! My sister, ever so thoughtful, remembered the day I went to the doctor to show him my pea sized lump.

I put everything down and read the entire book this afternoon. I laughed and cried and understood exactly how these women felt. I will be passing this book onto my friends who have helped me through this long year, as well as my friends who have survived. Thank you for this wonderful tribute to those of us who have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

What a story!! I LOVED IT!!

This was the best book I've picked up in a long time. It is a book everyone women should read. It really makes you look at friendships differently. These two women only know each other on line, but are as close as sisters. The story is about 2 women who meet up on the breast cancer bulliten board, and e-mail each other. I got into it so much I did'nt know I was also learning all about breast cancer. I laughed and cried all on the same page! I look forward to the authors next boook!

Too Real to be Fiction

Being a breast cancer survivor(victim), and being on an internet breast cancer forum (Breast Cancer Action-Nova Scotia, www.bca.ns.ca) I found this interaction (emailing) to be actually what I and many others have discovered by searching for information and comfort on the internet. I have now made many life-long, close friends through this forum that mirrors the one in this book. The book is "right-on" with the facts, both scientifically and emotionally.
