Gibran's Masterpiece

This is, by far, the most inspiring work I have ever read. The prose is so strikingly beautiful that the reader finds she must look away to regain her composure. Gibran's take on joy and sorrow is profound and very moving:

Your joy is your sorrow unmasked.
And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears.
And how else can it be?
The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.
Is not the cup that holds your wine the very cup that was burned in the potter's oven?

A masterpiece. If you don't own it-you should!

Speak to Us of the Prophet

The Prophet, for me, is a very vivid yet dense book. It speaks some sort of wisdom, and I delight in that wisdom when I can understand it.

The illustrations are done by the author himself, which is nice.
