TRADITION

I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS BOOK TO READ TO MY GRANDCHILDREN. I USED TO READ IT TO MY CHILDREN WHEN THEY WERE LITTLE. IT KEPT THEIR ATTENTION TO THE END AND I READ IT TO THEM SO MUCH THEY COULD LOOK AT THE PICTURE AND TELL ME WHAT WAS HAPPENING WITH THE BEARS. I TRIED TO REMEMBER MOST OF THE STORY TO TELL MY GRANDCHILDREN BUT IT IS NOT THE SAME AS HAVING THE BOOK OF ILLISTRATIONS. THEY TO ASK ME TO TELL THEM THE STORY OVER AND OVER. IT IS THEIR FAVORITE.

classic toddler story

This is one of my favorite children stories of all times. I read this to my preschool class around halloween and they enjoyed it so much they would ask for it year round. It was especially delightful when I bought the cassette. The creeking of the door and stepping into the darkness made the children laugh with delight. I read it to my own son and allowed him to play the tape over and over, he quickly learned all the words. The most delightful memory I have of my son is him trying to imitate the sounds the cassette made. I now would like to pass this story on to my three godsons and I can only find the book not the cassette. What a great fun story for children. It brought a lot of joy and laughter to many children including my own.

I am using this book in our classroom-the kids love it!

This book was, and still is, a favorite in our home. We love the phrase, "Home again, Safe at last." Our girls would always say that when we returned home from a trip.

I am now using this book in my classroom. I work with young deaf children. The children are making props. I have brought in other items, such as; a light, a stick, a rope, a large stuffed bear, an alligator.

We are going to act out this story. The children will take turns in the role of one of the characters. The children use sign language, and this book has been a great way to build vocabulary. They love this book and cannot wait for Reading Time. I will purchase a book for each of them for Christmas :-). I can't wait to see their little eyes when they open it. They all love to hold the book I brought in from my home library.

Loved it!

My preschool class loves this book! They ask for it again and again

We just love it!

My twenty-month old son's daycare had a worn out copy of the book and my son just loved it, so I decided to get him a copy for home and a new copy for daycare. We read it everynight before he goes to bed.
