What a happy book!
This is the best
Mother
Goose book
I have ever read. So many nursery rhymes are surprisingly violent but this book just contains the happy ones. Our daughter at age two could recite almost the whole book. She loves it and so do we. We bought another copy for our second daughter because it is a keeper.
Wonderful book! Beautiful illustrations!
This is an excellent book. I purchased it for myself while taking a childrens literature course and am now purchasing a second copy for my niece for Christmas. I know she will enjoy it for years to come! The illustrations are absolutely amazing! Don't miss this one!

A Delight
This book is a delight, both for the eyes and ears. The pictures are captivating, and please adults as well as children. While these rhymes have been around for years, it was the
first time
I'd ever seen many of them. This book is a "keeper"!
My favorite Mother Goose
I have never been a big fan of
Mother
Goose books---generally
because I am not a poetry fan and let's face it---they are poetry! But when I saw my favorite children's author, Rosemary Wells, illustrated this book, I had to have it, and I am so glad I did! My boys love it and so do it. Her painting for this book are so interesting and varied, and they incorporate themes that are real crowd pleasers in the under 6 set---lots of moons, trains and pictures of bunnies that look a lot like Max, her hero of her great Max and Ruby series. The selections here include some of the more unusual Mother Gooses, along with the old favorites. My boys ask for this book over and over and are learning a lot of Mother Goose. This is definately worth adding to your library.

A beautiful book
I was charmed by the beautiful illustrations in this book, as was my two year old son. Many of the verses are short, and this
together with
the cute, bright animal pictures means the book will hold the attention of even
very young
children. I discovered many of my old favourites in this book, as well as rhymes I had never heard before. My little boy has learnt many of the rhymes and loves to act out his favourite, the cow jumps over the moon. I was really pleased to see a further book of rhymes by Iona Opie and Rosemary Wells out this year, and have bought it for my second son. These are definitely books to keep.
