It is a "yummy" book!

We love this book! My toddler chooses this one along with "Loud, Quiet" every night before bed. We laugh and giggle at the cute pictures and she loves to say "yummy" and "yucky". These books have fun pictures and are fun to read as well as listen to! Pick up one of each and teach your child about opposites in a fun and funny way!

My daughter loves it

My daughter, a 2-year-old who's beginning to understand what "yucky" means, loves this book. The illustrations didn't do much for me at first, but I've come to enjoy Patricelli's style. We also enjoy her book "Big Little."

Our new baby could see the pictures

This gift arrived when our baby was 1 month old. She was actually able to enjoy the book at that early age because of the simple, bold baby faces. People were so amazed to watch her studying the pages! (However, there is one drawing of the baby from the side -- the "fish food" page -- which she did not comprehend for the first few months.) Over the past nine months we have taken this book everywhere with us. I have also purchased 4 copies for other pregnant women I know.

We have the other books by this author, but our baby does not enjoy them as much yet -- the images are a little more complicated and the concepts are over her head right now. So, if you are looking for a book that your new baby can see with that fuzzy newborn eyesight, Yummy Yucky is a fun one to try. Adults get a kick out of it too, and other small children are able to read it to the baby. None of us are tired of this book yet!

My daughter's favorite book!

My 11 month old loves this book. She loves the pictures of the baby and seems to laugh everytime I say "yucky".

We also have Quiet LOUD and BIG Little. She likes both of these, but her favorite is Yummy YUCKY.

FUN READ

We have had a blast reading this book to our toddler. We get pretty carried away with the words Yummy and Yucky and now each time she says Yucky she says it in a low kinda growly tone. It is a simple read, my daughter likes all of Leslie Patricelli's books- I don't know what it is about the big bald headed baby but she loves him/her in each book. I think it is a good theme carried through her books. The illustrations are simple without distractions of tons of colors and imagines. As far as ear wax and boogers- I highly doubt my two year old understands all that...If it is a crime to read a book that is fun for toddlers and adults than lock me up.
