borrow it from library before you buy

This book is full of motivational anecdotes. It does mention all the right concepts, but at a very superficial level (because so many pages are devoted to get you excited about starting to manage money on your own, instead of telling you how). If you are looking for serious education on a topic such as setting up a living trust v.s. will, how to buy T-bill, you'll be disappointed.

Smart women finish rich

I am almost finished with the book, and it is a very interesting book. I liked the Automatic millionaire more, but this book does so into more depth about investments and saving money. It is a good read, and worth the money for the information.

a good practical book

It is a good book to read about personal finance. Almost you probably know some of the things it mentioned, but it is definitely a good review.

A must read

I have given this book to all the women I know. After a divorce that left me broke, this book helped me turn my financial future into something to look forward to. I recommend all women read it, whether they are single, married, retired or just beginning a new career. This book covers all the important aspects of basic money management without any confusion. It makes planning financial future easy.

Easy-to-use advice on finance

Women have disadvantages when it comes to handling money, says author David Bach. Having been brought up to believe that finances are a man's responsibility, some women don't even know their family's income. Although his book is addressed to "smart women," Bach's goal setting and investing guide is helpful to men, also. He does love his bullet points and numbered lists: in addition to the "nine steps" of the subtitle, there are "three myths," "ten biggest mistakes" and more. But, the lists help make his recommendations memorable and easy to use. Bach implies that he is revealing revolutionary techniques, but actually his advice is basic wisdom that emphasizes values and adopting sensible practices. We recommend this book to you if you find it easier to talk about sex, religion and politics than about money or if you're only making minimum monthly payments on your credit card - so try not to get turned off by Bach's ever-wise grandmother (is she for real?) or his constant promotion of his books, trademarked seminars and other services.
