I LOVE THIS BOOK!!

The characters are great (you don't see little girl heroines very much) and their friendship touched me deeply! The illustrations are fabulous and are just what you want to see as the story goes along!

The best book (children's or adult) I have read in a long time!

Geat book! Loved it!

The first time I saw this book in my school library, I got attracted buy the cover, it has a really nice cover that was illustrated to look like a doll house, and inside there were those really cute drawings, so I picked it out from the library and start reading it. After finish reading this book, the first feeling that pops into my heard was, "Wow! This was such an awesome book!" The story was just as wonderful as the cover. This story uses a lot of flashbacks to tell stories that happened years ago, uses imagery to tell the reader clearly how the object looks like. It describes each doll's characterization, how Annabelle is brave and how friendly the funcrafts are. It also has a lot of internal conflict in this book, how uncle doll struggles between his love of aunt Sarah and his fears, how Annabelle feeling bored of her life as a doll and how she feels. Gathering all these, makes the book a great book to read. I like the friendship between Annabelle and Tiffany, I like the way they are always thinking of each other and always sharing with each other. I think friends should be like this, friends are not just who you hang out with, the definition for me as "friends" are people who cares about you, and always helping you and sharing with you. My favorite character in the story is Annabelle, she is a very brave doll, when all her family was scared to go outside the dollhouse and save aunt Sarah, she did it. I like how she cares about her family and then people around her, when she was going to save aunt Sarah she knew that it might cause some risk, she might get found moving and she might get hurt, but she still did it, why did she want to take such a risk? Cause she cares about her aunt so much, it's the love that encourages her to go out and find her aunt. Some of us might not do that; we wont get against our fears, sometimes we only think of ourselves and don't want to take the risk of helping other people. I think if are all willing to care and help each other more and not just thinking of our own, it will make our lives even better and will make the Earth a world full of love. After reading this book, I learned a lot, I learned about friendships, caring, helping and going against your fears. This is a great book, This is a book full of adventures, excitements, friendships and most of all, the book is full of love, the love between uncle doll and aunt Sarah, the love between Annabelle and her aunt, and the love between Tiffany and Annabelle. It's the love between each other that makes the story fantastic.

A funny and well written book.

Experience the world in a doll's perspective! Eight-year old Annebelle Doll has been stuck in the dollhouse for one hundred years. Passed down from generation to generation, Annebelle's life is the same every day. Making sure the humans don't see her move, lay in the same position almost all day. Until one day, the Funcrafts move in. Annebelle visits them and makes friends with Tiffany Funcraft. The two dolls go on many courageous and dangerous adventures, one where they find one of Annebelles long lost relatives. To find out the rest, read "The Doll People" by Ann M. Martin and Laura Goodwin.
I liked the book because it was fun to see what it's like to be a doll. I also thought it was well written and very funny.

The Doll People is a great chapter book

Hello. My internet nickname is StoryMaker. The Doll People is the title of an exciting chapter book that I reallly like. It is long enough and exciting enough for kids who like chapter books. The story is about a family of dolls. One of them is Annebelle, the main character. One of them is Auntie Sarah, but she has been missing for many years. Annebelle's life is boring. Well, it was boring. One day, a new set of dolls called the FunCrafts move in. (The C isn't really capital, but I like words that are smooshed together with both words capital. My own nickname, StoryMaker, is smooshed together like that.) One of the FunCrafts is Tiffany. She becomes best friend with Annebelle and they form a group called SELMP to search for Auntie Sarah. Annebelle and her family are made of china, but the FunCrafts are made of plastic so they are more sturdy. There is a cat named The Captain who the dolls are afraid of. All dolls must take an oath - a doll code - to become alive. The oath says to try not to let any humans see you move! If a human sees a doll move, the doll goes in Doll State and can't move for 24 hours. Espeaking of Doll State, there is a chapter I have to complain about called "Doll State". I thought it would be some kind of rescue, but no! It focuses on Annebelle even though she's in Doll State. That means the whole chapter is mainly about a doll that dosen't move! BO-RING! They tell her thoughts in Doll State, but that is creepy because it means in Doll State, dolls can think, but not move. That seems creepy. Another creepy thing is that dolls will never grow up. The good thing is that that means there can be a million sequels without them growing up! Yahoo! But I don't like how it dosen't say why Barbies don't take the oath. I also wish that toy animals could take the oath because The Captain is kind of bad (Please listen: Only kind of! Sometimes he's just playing with the dolls) so that means no good animals. Still, there is lots of excitement, fun, and love in this chapter book. I like the last few sentences of the book. I also like how realalistic their advertisments for dolls at the front and back of the book are, but it might confuse some people or get the author in trouble because of the realisum like "Dream House" being trade-marked or the realilistic ordering forms & coupons. Still, I bet it's a great chapter book for young and old! Signed, StoryMaker. "Gotta trust the kid's review!"

The Doll People

I enjoyed The Doll People because the characters are well described. Their dresses are frayed and their skin is a bit grayer. The book grabs your attention so that you can't put it down because of the things that Godwin and Martin have the characters do. Once Uncle Doll was so mad, he moved into the Barbie Dream Car. The Doll People is such an enjoyable book.
