outstanding writing

I am not a writer so I can't give a technical review on how well this book was written but I can say it was so rivetting that I couldn't put it down (something usually only a thriller or mystery does to me).
Ms. Hall has a genuine gift and I hope she writes more. Tears were shed in reading it but the ending is a happy one.

Without a Map

I just finished reading "Without a Map" and the writing and story telling was outstanding.

I too am a Birthmother from the sixties and each and everyone of her feelings about her baby being adopoted is EXACTLY WHAT ALL BIRTHMOTHERS FEEL . No matter what society says about getting on with your life, one never does that without the constant thought of the baby that you gave up for adoption.

I also was fortunate enough to have contact with my son after twenty eight years and I feel blessed everyday that he and his family are now part of our lives.

I recommend this book to all Birthmothers.

I bought Ms. Hall's book after watching an interview with her on NECN where she spoke about her writing. Her story is insightful, thoughtful and I was able to connect with her writing immediately. It is a heartfelt and honest account of her life and the difficult choices she was faced with starting at such an early age. A great read.

my favorite book

This is the best book I have read in so long. I have been craving a writer like Meredeth Hall to write books. Her words are so beautiful, the way she puts together her story is compelling and a joy to read. I love her "voice", her phrasing, the way she speaks. Her story is potent and riveting. The words have a grace all their own. I have recommended this book to everyone I know.
