Mary Fonseca -The Dame

Although it was fascinating to hear the story directly from "The Woman" who accidentally became the probably reason for a murder, it did, of course, only give her insight as to why it all happened. It is an interesting book for that reason, but, of course, it does not give the details founds in some of the other books published on the Scott Peterson case. Still, I couldn't put it down and I was absorbed with those lurid "details."

This is a must read book

This book is a very good book i enjoyed it till the end. It was a book that i couldnt put down for a sec. This is a about Amber frey who starts to date Scott Peterson and soon finds out that Scott Peterson is married and has a kid on the way, even tho scott promised amver that he was not married many times. but she and a freind finds out by the news on TV, becasue Lacey is missing. Amber's need to finally speak.

As so many others, I followed this case from start to finish and was affected by it on so many levels. I was determined not to buy or read this book since it came out so soon after the verdict. That seemed wrong to me. But after reading Sharon's book and then Anne's book I saw this book on sale and decided that I had to complete the "circle."

You won't find any new facts in this book, but what you will find, I believe, is Amber's attempt to set the record straight as she experienced the whole ordeal. She writes what seems a frank account and is not afraid to admit that she made many mistakes in her life. After being demonized by the media and by many in the public eye and being silent until the trial was over as she had said she would, I think she felt she finally needed to tell her story.

In an interview, she admitted that one of the reasons she went ahead with the book was to assure the financial future for her two children, especially since she had to miss so much work during that two year period. As a single mother, that seems to be quite an up front answer. Maybe it was also a shot at clearing her soul of the whole mess. Only God knows the real reasons for these things.

The only thing that I wish she had done was to respect Sharon's wishes and not put Laci's picture on the front or back cover. In the media and in her book she constantly talks of respecting Laci's family and friends and Laci's memory. I think that honoring Sharon's request would have been the ultimate proof of respect.

God bless Laci and Conner and may they rest in peace.
