Those Who Seek the Presence of God

I think this book is marvelous for those who are really seek to be close to God's presence. The author has pointed out something that everybody should know, prayer. Prayer is the only means to communicate with God and be victorious in this world. Prayer is the key to many things that the world is looking for, healing, happiness, power, etc., and this book takes you to understand it. If you want to know more, please, read Acts 4:30-31 and 1 Corinthians 1:20-31

How the Holy Spirit works

This book gave the time about Jim's experience and how he experienced the Holy Spirit. This is a lesson to be learned about the work of the Holy Spirit. I appreciate his honesty and sharing his experiences with others.

A Book Of Conviction, Dreams, and The Power of Prayer

I have read FRESH WIND, FRESH FIRE some three times know and each time I read this book I walk away with renewed confidence in the awesome power of God (Psalm 115:3). The book is truly one of my favorite books of all time. Each time I read it I renew my passion for prayer (Luke 18:1).

The book is essentially the story of the famous Brooklyn Tabernacle Church in Brookly, NY. Known for its choir, the book reveals the deeper level of the church unseen and that is the power of prayer first seen in the life of a young, inexperienced, struggling pastor named Jim Cymbala who took Brooklyn Tabernacle when it only had 15 or so members. From there the reader begins to see the incredible story of faith and the power of God in His people when He people humble themselves and pray (James 5:16). Pastor Cymbala writes with boldness and conviction. He truly believes that God's house must be called a house of prayer (Isaiah 56:7).

I urge you to purchase this book and allow the story of the Brooklyn Tabernacle ignite a passion for prayer in your life and Church. As Jim Cymbala writes in the book, "It is a sad reality that the Church was birthed in prayer (Acts 1:14) but today the prayer meeting is the most unattended meeting in the entire church." As Charles Spurgeon commented, "Where the Church be found in prayer there you will also find the Spirit at work."

The Key to Another Great Awakening

Cymbala presents here an inspirational story of Brooklyn Tabernacle, and how God can move in any situation when His people approach him in prayer. While being a bit too harsh towards church health proponents, the author overall makes a very strong point about the necessity of prayer in experiencing the movement of God in a fresh way. If America's churches are to experience another "great awakening" as in times past, the key is found within these pages.

Pastors would do well to read this book, as would all church leaders. It calls us all back to the basics -- crying out to God and experiencing what only He can do. This title is definitely a must-read.

Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire

I have read the book twice and it has been great both times. Shows us the importance of prayer over most organized church service. Although, we need both.
