Fantastic yet terrifying
This is a fantastic read, albeit it rather eerie. Morton's research is evident throughout this rather worrying
biography
of Tom
Cruise
. While the beginning, in my opinion, was nothing less than flattering - as soon as Morton begins divulging Cruise's relationship with the cult of Scientology, the book takes a rather terrifying turn.
A definite must read - Morton has a real knack for biographical story-telling, you can see the sudden, bizarre change from the all-American boy-next-door to fanatical cult pinup-boy.
5 Stars for Andrew, not Tom
I spent an hour researching the "church" of Scientology after I turned the last page of this book. Because it freaked me out. This rating was for the honest effort Mr. Andrew Morton put into covering his subject matter - which in the case of "almighty" Tom, we all know isn't easy to do. I respect him for all of the info he covered. I really didn't get Scientology B4, but between the coverage in the book, my own research on the Net - I now know all I ever want to know. It is alarming actually. I didn't want to believe people who said Tom
Cruise
was over the hedge -- of the bushes just this side of the Psych hospital. Ooops! That's right - all shrinks are a no-no! They're out to kill us. I really lost a lot of respect for him, and unfortunately he is on my "banned" list along with Pitt for screwing over Jen. (sigh) Oh well. If you do get the book - brace yourself. May I suggest borrowing it from a public library (that's what I did). I'm glad I did that because I don't want any Scientology filth disrespecting the other volumes in my home library. When you finish reading, hop on the Net and Google LISA MCPHERSON, and SOUTH PARK on SCIENTOLOGY from videos on Contemporary Insanity. My prayers are out to Katie and that beautiful little girl. I hope she gets away from the insanity - WITH her little girl.

great buy
This book was awesome, could not put it down. Very enlightening subject matter. Sheds a whole different light on "Tom Terrific". Wow!!
Nicole's the Baddy
For me, the thing I took away about this book is the patheticness of Nicole Kidman. Tom came through reasonably unscathed, but she comes accross as extremely snobbish, demanding and insecure. I was pretty impartial to Tom
Cruise before
reading this book. but I am now a definite fan. I am also not a Scientologist. I don't agree with the religion, but as far as I am concerned, he can follow any creed he wants.
