It takes time.

I have been a WoT reader since around the time PoD came out in late 1998. I have grown with the series since then and my opinions have varied widely. Recently, I have come to enjoy the later books more and more and even came to the point where I enjoyed them better than books like The Great Hunt and the Eye of the World.

At least to me, this is where I see Jordan at the top of his game. There are points in this book that I am moved to the point of tears, like in the "Cup of Sleep" chapter. We learn more and more about Aes Sedai in the White Tower and the real control that the Black Ajah has. The detail and the increasing intricacy with different PoVs is something I have really begun to treasure.

All in all, it sets up a lot of great things that take place in the next book and also contains some very moving scenes with characters we have followed since the beginning. It takes a number of readings to actually see the subtleties of the book and when read as part of the whole WoT it's a great moment in the series.
