The Clique Novels

The Clique Novels are really great! Massie, Claire, Dylan, and Kristin you'll get to know and love all of them. If you like stories about popular (sometimes backstabbing) rich girls, cute boys and crushes this book is for you. Might I add the ending of The Pretty Comitee Strikes Back is ahmazing can't wait to find out what happens next!!!!!!

Here we go again

Do you think that popular cliques are all about glamour and gossip? Think again, under all the expensive clothes, jewelry and make-up their friendships are made up of webs of lies. The second book of The Clique series by Lisi Harrison still has Massie Block, as the leader of her clique, the Pretty Committee. Gossip is going around that she is falling from the top. The only way for Massie to stay on top is to throw a boy/girl Halloween party. In order for her to throw this party she has to pretend to become friends with Claire Lyons, who has been trying to get into the Pretty Committee for a long time, and likes the same guy as Massie. Claire is the daughter of Massie's parents' friends, who have been living in Massie's guest house since they moved in from Orlando. Massie doesn't think that Claire is at all cool. Claire and Massie are forced to spend all their time working on the party together to make their parents happy. Ever since Claire moved in, both Massie and Claire's parents thought that Massie and Claire were going to be best friends. So now while Claire and Massie are always together the rest of the Pretty Committee is always getting blown off. Massie is thankful that the Halloween party lets her spend more time with her clique. At the party nothing goes as planned for Massie. Her sidekick, Alicia Rivera makes a new good friend, Olivia Ryan. The other two members of the Pretty Committee, Dylan Marvil and Kristen Gregory, fall for the same guy. Massie and her clique wore revealing "dirty devil" costumes to school earlier that day and got in trouble. The principal decides to require school uniforms because of it. All the girls hate uniforms and therefore, Massie. To fix this, Massie convinces the principal to allow a design contest for uniforms with a fashion show. When Massie's maid throws away Claire's and Massie's uniform designs, Massie and Claire are forced to work together again. With the help of Dylan and Kristen, they come up with a new design. Alicia has been spending all of her time with her new friend Olivia; they are even doing the design contest together. Will the Pretty Committee finally be torn up for good?

In this book, Lisi Harrison has truly captured the drama of being a teen. She really makes you feel like you are in Massie's Range Rover carpool with the rest of the Pretty Committee getting ready to go to Starbucks. The Pretty Committee lets you into their lives, telling all of their deepest, darkest secrets. It's like you are on an emotional rollercoaster with them. The author has made these characters complicated and intriguing. It is funny how even the Pretty Committee members don't really know each other. I definitely recommend this teen fiction page turner for anyone who likes reading about snobby rich girls playing dirty tricks on each other. I could relate to this book in so many ways. The stores that they shop at, the language and slang that they speak, and the rumors that they spread are so realistic it feels like you are in the book. Like one time in the book, Massie puts a sign that says out of order on bathroom so she has a place to talk to her friends at her party. It reminded me about how my friends and I go some place away from the crowd to talk at parties. I love how this book makes you feel like you're in it, letting you feel the emotions that the story takes you on. So now do you think that you want to join the clique?

The Clique is Back, The Plot is thickening

The Pretty Committee is back, in this great sequel to the already awesome novel, "The Clique".

In this book, the plot takes a wild turn when Massie decieds to beat two girls to having a boy/girl Halloween party. She gets caught up in the spirit, when she and the rest of the Pretty Committee where their hot, new Halloween costumes to school, and get detention.

They then have the Halloween party, but one of the girls is not permitted to attend, because of the detention. The party is also not all it's cracked up to be, because Massie finds out her crush likes someone else.

Then, the worst happens. Something that might actually tear Massie and Alicia apart...

This sequel shows that a great story can keep going on. I highly reccommend this romantic, true, and funny book.

Best Friends for Never is the best ever!!!

The author of "Best Friends for Never", Lisi Harrison is a genius. She knows just how girls at this age act and knows how to describe cliques in a fantasy way. The school is in the book is covered with rich snobs and it has a Starbucks. The fact that all the girls go shopping like everyday after school is a little out there.
Massie is afraid she has gone down social rankings, so she co-hosts the hottest coed Halloween party with Claire (a girl who lives with Massie and wishes she was in the clique). In this book all kinds of things happen like bedrail, jealousy, friendship, understanding, boy-watching, and a lot of shopping. There are quite a few boy troubles. Massie likes Cam (Briarwood boy), Cam likes???, Todd likes Massie, and Dylan and Kristen both like Derrick (another Briarwood boy). Todd is Claire's annoying ten year old brother who steals Massie's first kiss. After Massie and her friends wear provocative Halloween costumes for fun at school the faculty decides to put on a fashion show to figure out what the uniforms are going to look like. The fashion shoe divides the clique and possibly opens and opportunity to for Claire to jump in.
If you like books with popular, rich, stuck up girls, cute boys, and crushed then this book is made for you. The Genre of this book is dealing with rich popular girls who are mean to every other girl who isn't in her or their clique. Towards the end Massie's so called best friend Alicia pulls a stunt never worth forgiving.
For all you parents out there let your girls ages 11-16 read this book. It will teach them not to be mean and what mean girls can do to sweet, sweet girls like Claire.

ALL the girls in my school were reading this book and saying how good it was. So I thought I would give it a try, one of the best desicions ever. When I picked up at home my mom had to tell me to stop reading which is a very rare thing let me tell you.

In this book all of these things happen:
