I'm hooked
This is the second book I've read by this author and I have to say that she has got a fan.I find her books to be well plotted and fast moving with some good twists. Look foward to more.

Just read it!
Iris Johansen is the master (mistress?) of suspense. And this book does not disappoint. You think you know where the plot is going, and then suddenly, she throws you for a loop that leads to a wild ride . . .and an unbelievable ending. So she may take a few liberties with plausability, but that's part of the fun. This is the first book in a trilogy that is worth reading in its entirety. If you like her other books, you'll like this one as well.

GREAT plot! Ends with a bang!!!
After reading "The Search", I was hooked to this author's novels, especially the recurring characters of John Logan, Eve Duncan, Joe Quinn, and Sarah Parker(even though she's not present in this one, but this is the first of the Eve Duncan series and Sarah will appear in the second and third novels). This novel introduces us to the history of Eve Duncan and Joe Quinn. Eve's daughter Bonnie was kidnapped and killed 8 years ago, but her body was never found. The person who handled her case was an FBI named Joe Quinn. Since that dark period of Eve's life, she got her education and became a forensic sculptor, with the ability to perform facial reconstruction from skulls. Throughout the years, Joe and Eve became the best of friends. Eve is a workaholic and is obsessed with helping other victims' families identify and bring home their loved ones, especially children. Because of her particular profession, she was approached by John Logan, a computer billionaire, with a job proposal--facial reconstruction of a skull that may belong to one of our US presidents! With this, Logan and Duncan may have stumbled into one of the biggest political conspiracy and coverup in US history. The novel is full of suspense and action that kept me guessing until the end. The love confict between Logan, Eve, and Quinn was not resolved even though I knew what will happen since I've read "The Search", but I'm still anxious to read the next novel "The Killing Game" to see how everything plays out. Above all, Bonnie was not found yet, which I think will have to lead into the next novel. Great read! Excellent and absolutely brilliant storytelling.
