"Get out of my brain!"

This is the familiar phrase used by controllers in their internal battle with the Yeerks. All along we have seen the controllers, the Yeerks, as the bad guys. But now one of our hero's, and the leader of the Animorphs, _is_ a controller. This book gives us a feel and a deeper perception of what the actual host is going through. Set in the first person, you experiance firsthand the struggle of the host agains the parasite. And you begin to see that there is more than two sides to this battle. Because whenever the animorphs kill a controller, they are also killing an innocent being, a pawn in this intergallactic war. Will the animorphs be able to save our hero Jake? Or will he get back to Visser Three and tell all. Oh the suspense...

"They're inside my mind" . . .

Jake's brother Tom - a Controller - seems to be pretty interested in some new hospital. So the Animorphs morph cockroaches to infiltrate a meeting of The Sharing - a front organisation for the Yeerks. They find out that the Governor is having minor surgery - and they're going to infest him. There's worse - he's running for President. A Controller could end up in the White House . . . So they morph flies, and find a mini-Yeerk pool in the hospital. They try to destroy the Yeerk pool, but before Jake can morph, he falls into the Yeerk pool . . . They manage to destroy the Yeerks, but one escaped - and now it's in Jake's head . . .

This book is amazing! I originally thought, how're they gonna do this? But even though the book is set almost entirely in Jake's own mind, Katherine still manages to put across Jake's private battle with the Yeerks very well. The best bit is when he finds out the Yeerk in his head used to be Tom's . . .

Never done before:Jake,Animorph,is a controller

Of all the books in the series, this is my favorite.The fact that Jake had to be infested at all was frightening, but when he found out about Tom's relationship with the Yeerk and when all those memories were transfered to him, it was compelling!But I guess he'll never tell the others.

The Best Animorphs Book...Without a Doubt

Without a doubt, this is THE best Animorphs book. It goes so deep into the feelings of Jake, the feelings of defiance, it's just wonderful.

now I know how they feel

In all the other books you see the Hork-Bajir, that are enslaved by a yeerk, the taxxons, and the human-controlers, and all I knew before was, kill them, before they kill you, but not now, now you can see the story from a diferent point of view, in wich YOU are the controller, you should be killed, very interesting how the other ANIMORPHS find out, and, to whoever still didn't read the book, I guess you'll just have to find out what happens next!
