Plan to Have Your Day Open

This is a book a friend lends you impressing that you have to read it. Begrudingly you turn to page two and you're trapped. You will not be able to put this book down until it is finished.

Awesome

I read this book for school and loved it. Don't be turned off by the letters, they are the best part. This book is filled with laughs. Once I read the first page I was hooked. This book should be reqiured to be read by anyone over the age of 12. I am 15 and cried at the ending. You get intouch with the characters that well that you are touched. If you do choose to read this book, be mindful that there is some language. Steve Kluger out did himself. This book is my favorite book!

a book anyone over the ten NEEDS to read

this book is sensational. it has humor and moral lessons for anyone over the age of ten as the main chrachters as some humor could be considered innapropriate by some parents. everyone i know who has read this book loved it even my 75 year old grandfather. even if you dont love baseball and the giants you will love this story. it is a good book to read alowed. it takes place in the 40s in brooklyn, NY and is about a teenage boy who writes letters to an NY giant player and develops an father-son relationship. if you are not afraid to cry in front of your kids and dont mind the use of the f word then u will LOVE this book

The perfect book

I picked this book up at a used book sale for a buck, figuring at that price it couldn't be a waste of money. I was hooked after the first page and found myself laughing out loud throughout most of the book. The notes between Joey and his buddy Craig, Joey and Charlie Banks, Joey and the President, and the entire cast of characters all serve to put you right in the middle of the story rather than leaving you off to the side. I've read it probably a dozen times since then, and each time it still makes me laugh, and in the end I still cry a little, even though I know what's coming. I can't think of another book that has that effect on me.
