Drew is Amazing

This book is one of the best I've read in a long time. Drew Barrymore really opens her heart and shares the most difficult times of her life. I think it is amazing how she has overcome so much to get to where she is today. She is a remarkable woman and it really touched me to read this book. I am the same age as Drew and our lives are so different. She is an inspiration whenever I feel like life is getting the best of me. I have read this book several times over and will read it many more times.

Exactly what I was looking for...

Being an 8th grader we are faced with many projects. One of them was "read a biography and do a presentation on it." I was worried but I hiked it over to the mall looking specifically for a book on Annette Funicello. No luck but as I was scanning the shelves I found "Little Girl Lost" and snatched it up. I was frustrated and it was the first thing I saw. But as I was walking through the mall reading it I couldn't put it down. And I didn't until I got home. The way they lay out her life and speak the total truth was amazing to me. I didn't know half of the stuff that I read in that book. Then I was faced with preparing the project. I was doing a collage and for a shape I chose 12 steps. It brought up a lot of questions in the class which I gladly explained. I am glad I read such an excellent book and walked away from it with a sense of actually knowing something about the wonderful actress I loved in the first place.

Drew Barrymore

when I first started reading her book, I got into it so much I could not put it down! It's taught me the harmful things drugs can do to your life and that they aren't as fun as they seem. It's also changed my opinion on Drew Barrymore. I didn't like her so much before but now I totally love her! she's really cool and I hope that I can come out with the strength like she did in her book. REcovering from a drug addiction is one of the most complicated things to do in life. And a lot of people wouldn't be alive today, much less continuing on a career like she did. I really admire Drew for her strength and character. She has a wonderful and bright personality. I hope that her message and story reaches out to others as it did me.

WOW!! is all i can say

"Little Girl Lost" is a touching story about a young child actress awarded with her ancestors gift of marvelous acting. However, that is not all that is passed down to her, unfortunately, her problems with drug and alcohol abuse started at the tender age of 9. The messed up her acting career for a short period of time. Drew Barrymore is then finally taken to a private rehabilitation clinic to help sort out her emotional, family, and her addict-alcoholic problems. This autobiography was thoughtfuly written while Drew was 14 years old and in her final weeks at the rehab center.

Good pick!

I am a fan of Drew, and the book really gives interesting insight into the courses of her life. It is mostly written by Drew herself, but there are also inputs of those who knew her and her loved ones. However, I feel bad for her for the drug addiction aspect of her story, but if you read the book, it really isn't anything too special, Unfortunately. There are many kids everyday everywhere in millions that succumb to the same behaviors and problems she does and worse. It really is too bad, but I wouldn't call it an outrageous hollywood story.
