I was surprised that this book was so good. I thought it might be loosely done since it was based on a game but I was wrong. Once you start this book you won't want to put it down!

This book, the first of a bunch of books (the other books are Myst, The Book of Ti'ana and Myst, The book of Dni) This book is the best I have ever read, and it makes you feel like you are in the story. It is the story that is based on the game. It is about mastering pieces of parchment that can lead you into other worlds. The boy, Atrus thought the stories his Grandmother told him were just legends, but then his father turns up who he has not seen in a while, and that is where his adventure starts

Best Fantasty Novel EVER!

MYST: The book of Atrus is fantastic. If you want to know more about the story of MYST, and Atrus's history, it's a must read! If you don't, and you've never even played the game, it's still fantasic for fantasty readers! I'll share no secrets, only that you will learn Atrus's past from birth up, why Gehn is as mad as he is, how Gehn was trapped on RIVEN, plus the true writer of MYST- it wasn't Atrus! You'll learn how Atrus came to know what the Art truly was. A fantastic fantasty, well writen, and suspenseful! Get it wherever you can! A MUST READ!

Interesting story for an interesting game

I was impressed by the game of Myst and intruiged by the complex and detailed back-story it seemed to have. So, I bought the novels. This novel gives more detail in to the life of Atrus, whom you meet in the game. For those who like to get involved with characters, this book gives great insight into Atrus, his experiences, and his motivations.
