I will explain how I use this book in my classroom.

I like to use this book in my classroom whenever a Friday the 13th comes on the calendar since the text follows the theme of good luck and bad luck. It also lends itself to inspire writing activities.

Fortunately is one of the best books to teach prediction strategies to young readers. Unfortunately, it is out of print and should be restored to bookstores for teachers and parents who need excellent literature to use with children.

Good for teachers teaching cause and effect

If you are a teacher and teach cause and effect, this book is great. when you are finished, you can have the kids write a story as a class based on their own fortuantely events. It's great!

Kids will love it!

My old hardcover edition of this book is worn from years of reading it to my children. It was their favorite, and they are now 25 and 21. I have since purchased it for my great-nephews and nieces and they also love to hear about the adventures (or should I say misadventures) of Ned. It is a book the whole family can enjoy.
