Don Juan is back
I really like this story line and I have to agree that this book is filled with a little too much plot rehash. That being said, I like to take the time to immerse myself in Charlie's world (the same as I have in all of WEB's other series), so the rehash is noted and lets move on.
Looking forward to the next "Men at War" which I hope is out in June.
Good read/listen.
This is the fourth W.E.B. Griffin
novel I've
listened to on CD. Like the others, the plot is interesting and held my attention, but the ending is a bit anti-climactic. The entire book is a build-up to a special operations mission, but the description of the operation itself is only a few minutes long. Fortunately, the impression that it leaves is not of a lack of storytelling but of a description of a fast paced, operation in a chaotic environment from the point of view of a single character.
There is also a subplot involving the backstory of Lt.Col. Castillo that, in my opinion, was heavy-handed and predictable, but did not detract from the story overmuch.
Overall, a good read/listen.
