A CHILD CALLED "IT"
What an intense book! "IT" will give you a reality check of your heart. I was so moved, I read it in 4 hours. I'm currently ordering a class set, in hopes to reach my students and help them understand that life can be cruel, yet there is hope if you don't give up. I had the pleasure to hear Dave speak at Westmoor High School, in Daly City, California, last year while I taught there. I plan to pilot the other 2 books, with the hope of ordering them for my classes.
Your going to cry if you read this book
This is THE best book that I have ever read.. It is full of every emotion known to man. I could not put this book down one second. As a child, David Peltzer went through one of the worst recorded cases of child abuse in California's history. What he went through was a horrible childhood that no child deserves, not even animals deserve to be treated the way David was. He was starved, sufficated, stabbed, emotionally scared, isolated, and treated worse than the family dogs. He had to actually eat the scraps from his family and steal food from the dogs. He slept in the basement on a cot with no blanket and was not allowed to talk to his family members.

The Child Called It
WOW that's what i say. What a brillient book. I never put it down and highly recommended it to friends. I cried all the way through it, not to sound patronising but i felt Dave Pelzer's pain and heartache. What kind of mother does that to her child??? The things he was made to do where beyond belief, yet he still did them-he didn't run away. This is the sort of book that really inspires people and makes them apprieate what they have in life. Dave Pelzer suffered the worst case of child abuse seen in America, but not in vain-if anything it has taught people to be more vigilant and forth-coming. It made me smile with happiness at this innocent child's bravery but also cry in profound sadness at the way he was treated. My heart goes out to you. You've really turned things around for yourself, writing about your experiances, selling millions of books and being a best selling aurtour-THAT'S AMAZING. If anything we can learn form this and stop it happening to other innocent children. An astounding and heart-renching read. Good luck in the future all the love and happiness Mr Pelzer-a throughly inspirational man.

A Story of Inner-Strength, Courage and Forgiveness
Child abuse is still such an issue which we strive to deny and hide. Dave Pelzer shines a spotlight into the deep, dark, secret crevises of child abuse - and what we see is horrifying. What Dave suffered through was one of the worst cases of child abuse in the state of California. When you read what happened to him, you wonder how it could be or get any worse. Dave Pelzer is an inspiration for every human being on this earth. Never the victim, his writing is compassionate and forgiveness has filled his soul. However, the reader will probably have a tougher time with forgiveness. I believe this book (and his trilogy) should be MANDATORY reading for all teachers. Statistics say 1 out of 4 children in the US are abused. It is imperative teachers know what to look for - and then ACT. Dave's teachers risked their careers for him, and saved his life. Every parent and teacher owes it to themselves to read this book...you'll never look at your own children (or your school kids) again in the same way.

The best and most intense book I have ever read.
This book was a very emotional, educational, book I've ever read, which only took me two hours and I'am not an avid reader. Even though this was a terrible tragedy at which David suffering is an understatment......Dave Peltzer survived this awful tragey and came through it with such success in his life. He never gave up and now has he own children to which I know he will be a wonderful, caring, and devoted father, and have unconditional love for them always and forever.
