An idealist for all ages

Kennedy's book is a moving tribute to his father. The words apply not only to the political turmoil of the 1960's, but to aspects of life in the 1990's and beyond. Robert Kennedy was a great idealist and an inspiration to anyone who hopes to work as a public servant. This book is a great insight into his thoughts and fears, his dreams and aspirations. It begs the question of what the United States could have been had he lived to accomplish all he set out to do. This book can easily be read in an afternoon, but treasured for a lifetime.

You will feel as though he is speaking DIRECTLY to you

This is a great lunchtime reading book for people who don't get as much time to read as they'd like. It is thought provoking for those who are usually so wrapped up in the day-to-day world and would like to escape into the contemplation of the 'big' questions. It is a good book for young and middle-aged alike; it will teach one group about the times they missed, and the other group about what's important in life. (The trick is to figure out which group gets which needed lesson.)

This book is about topics that are fresh today.

It is written by a son in search of his father. We find him, as Maxwell Taylor Kennedy makes the formal introduction to RFK for us all.

A definite treasure for people who believed in Bobby's work

The book, "Make Gentle the Life of This World," is a phenomenal piece of work. There's no doubt that Maxwell Kennedy had a challenging task in compiling this book - but his hard work has paid off as the book provides us with so much insight about Bobby's way of thinking. For those who admired the passion of Bobby, and for those who have an appreciation of literature and philosophy, will most definitely enjoy this book. Though there are times when I wish there was more writings or thoughts directly from Bobby as opposed to his sources. Nevertheless, it is an inspiring piece of work.

An Inspirational Remembrance of Bobby Kennedy

While I thought that reading this book would take me back to the 1960's, I was struck by how relevant Bobby's quotes (and others) are today. While some classified him as a "liberal," many of his comments and solutions suggest that government (even then) was too big and could not solve the problems of our people. I think Bobby was a pragmatist who had true compassion for others. How unfortunate for us that there is no one in government today with his optimism, convictions, and ideas. As I concluded the book, I was even more haunted by the notion of '...if only he had lived...'

An inspiring use of the english language.

Robert Kennedy's youngest son has carefully and successfully highlighted the inspiration that was the presidential hopeful who was sadly taken away before his time.

The book lists RFK's most inspiring quotes and passages. I found the book extremely rewarding and an oppurtunity to learn more about a man who changed the face of American politics forever.

A great read.
