The joys and struggles that couples can face.

I read this novel last night, hoping to be entertained and enlightened. I loved reading all of EJD's novels, and this one did not disappoint me. There are numerous twists and turns in this story (read the book and you will know what I mean!) Love can be so overwhelming sometimes... This book is very intense, very sad but true...Eric has proven to the public that he is extremely imaginative, spine-tingling, exhilarating, and over all demanding your attention from start to end.
To me, this novel shows modern-day marriages in the USA - the joys and struggles that couples can face. It also showed how selfishness can get the best of us and leave serious devastation in its wake.

After reading this novel, I realized that honesty can be one of the best results from an affair (that is, if everyone involved is honest with themselves and each other). It doesn't even matter if marriages end in divorce or recover and continue to grow: an affair can help the people involved to become better (not bitter) people.

I only rate the novel four stars because I am ambivalent about the way the novel ends (I won't give away the ending - read the novel for yourself!) I recommend this novel for all people because everyone has dealt with betrayal (not necessarily betrayal in a marriage) at some point in his life. This novel is about love and hate and how very thin the line is between both passions. Excellent read, could not put it down...Very very good...Again, Eric exceeded all expectations... He is indeed in a class of his own... Read it!

Dickey at his BEST!!!

I finished this book in 8 hours... I just couldn't put in down. Dickey has a way of making you feel like you really know his characters, like you are there in the situation with them. "The Other Woman" is what you would call a real page turner and great read. It promises every type of emotion possible and a surprise ending that makes it all worth while. Once you read one of Dickey's books, you will be a die-hard fan like me. I have read every single book he has written...twice!!!

I really like this book!

I must say I really enjoyed this read. EJD has done it again. In some of his books I was kinda ready for them to be over with but this book, all I can say is wow. It kept me hooked the whole time. Freckles self discovery was eye opening and beautiful. And realistic, all the drama people go through when they find out someone is cheating. I love how EJD gives a snit bit of his old characters mention in other works. Makes me feel like I just know everybody! Haha. Great though seriously.

One of The Best

I've read a lot of African American Literature and I have to say that this is one of the best that I've read. It was a page turner like no other. Started the book on tuesday and finished it on Thursday. I could not put it down to save my life! He wrote very well from a womans point of view. And not only was it a good book, it really makes you think twice about stepping out on your spouse! Good read, and an eye opener. I loved it.
