The Perfect Preschool Gift

Perfect for preschoolers, it will keep you and them entertained beginning to end. In this fourth book in the series the little mouse is busy as usual hoppng from thought to thought. The illustrations are a perfect compliment to the story, as they are very colorful and detailed. They are sure to occupy the young minds as they try to locate those extra details. Good for the whole family, but especially the young ones.

Delightfully predictable

Consistent with her other works on the same vein, Numeroff pulls a Christmas theme. My children enjoyed it thoroughly and found great humor in the Numeroff world where everything impacts on everything else: A truism that should not be forgotten and that we should all remember as we grow and learn to take responsibility for our actions. The book is sweet. The tone soothing.

We liked her other books better

"If you take a mouse to the movies" isn't the best book by Laura Joffe Numeroff. We liked her other books better. The other ones are more fun. This one is kind of silly. The moose book is the funniest.

A mom overseas

My boys love mouse a cookie, pig a pancake, and moose a muffin so we were excited to order this newest book. However, I don't think that the storyline of this book flows as well as the others do. The transition from one antic to another seems to be a bit of a stretch. The mouse is still as engaging and energetic as ever. The illustrations by Felcia Bond are wonderful. My children still really enjoy this book but they haven't asked to have it read to them repeatedly like they do for the other books. When my husband finished reading it to them, he just looked at me and said that this was "lame".

You know the drill..!!

We must confess -- barely a day after Halloween, and we're Christmas shopping already! This book is top on our list of gifts to give to the under 5 age group.

It all begins with a movie, and then just as happens with the original story "If You Give a Mouse A Cookie," one thing oh so logically leads to another! Yes, our favorite (nameless) thinking mouse is back, with a story just in time for the holidays! As much as we love Pigs and Mooses (see related stories by this author), in our house the mouse is our favorite.

The story is engaging enough that adults enjoy reading aloud, the illustrations invite looks for all the details.

Definitely a book you can't go wrong with -- a great holiday (or pre-holiday) gift for 0 to 5!
