Bright Shiny Morning

I loved all his books and this one is as great as the others. I found out the first two books were not factual, but his writing is so worth reading I didn't care. Treat yourself to this one and the other two.

Great read

Awesome book. Awesome stories....both fiction and non-fiction. The fact that the book is not conventional is what I love most. Go Frey...you owe no one any apologies at all! What's next??

Once you get past the format

Once I got past the odd format of no punctuation, run-on sentences, and the strange paragraph arrangement, I was enthralled. This is one of the best pieces of fiction in quite a while. I read an average of two books a week, so calling it extraordinary is high praise when it's in competition so with many others. I highly recommend this book if you enjoy crisp characters and a compelling story line.

Frey Makes it Work

I wanted to dislike this book because it is full of cliches and a certain trendy urban prose that Frey uses in all of his work. Instead, I am glued to the page and captured by the history, accurate or not, surrounding Los Angeles. Frey writes with a pace and intensity that carries his readers on a journey into the lives of runaway youth, movie stars, gang members and '"you name it." An entertaining read to say the least. His best work so far.
