Thinking better made transparent - and fun!

This book is inspirational, informative and fun. Inspirational, because it demonstrates that thinking and creativity is a skill which we can all improve; informative in that it lays out a practical framework and many useful tools, and fun - with a wacky, wry sense of humour! It is well written and succinctly organized, and mercifully free of biz-speak.

I read a lot of business books; this was a pleasure! I finished it in 2 days and will use and refer to it regularly. This one's a keeper!

Think Better Now!!

Think better, work better, do better...who doesn't want all of this? Tim Hurson's book illuminates how distractions, instinctual responses and engrained thinking patterns make it so difficult for us to come up with new and creative solutions to the challenges we face. Then he shows us how to break out of those traps and think more productively.

Productive thinking results from successfully separating creative thinking from critical thinking -- separating the generation of ideas from the judging of ideas. Too often we conduct these two thinking processes simultaneously. Tim believes we can learn how to separate creative and critical thinking and he provides simple and useful tools to improve our productive thinking skills.

But this isn't just another dry book about self-improvement. Tim shows us how to think more productively in an engaging and humorous way with anecdotes and examples that will make you say AHA! again and again as you read Think Better. Read this book and think better instantly!!!

Get it you won't regret it.

I was fortunate enough to get an advanced copy of Think Better and my apologies for using a somewhat hackneyed phrase, but this is a must read.
If you have ever studied creative problem solving and walked away scratching your head this book will clear it up. The book is full great examples and easy to use methodology. You will walk away from this book not only seeing the light about how to have more and better ideas and how to put them to use, but you will want to pass it along to everyone you know. Get this book you won't regret it!

A brilliant way to think better.

Loved the book! Normally I putter about with business and creativity books, read a chapter here and there, put it down, pick it up a week later.

I read Think Better in two days. It was engaging, witty, and fun but still with a lot of substance. I'm a professional academic with four graduate degrees so you'd think I know a lot about thinking. Turns out I also had a lot to learn! Whether you want to use the whole process Mr. Hurson has created or steal an idea here and there, this is a wonderful sourcebook. Buy it. Read it. You won't be disappointed.

Think Better

Tim Hurson's book is a wonderful read, full of stories and references but more importantly, he provides a thinking methodology and many new cognitive tools to use when wrestling with real problems. Whether you are faced with a challenge at home, at work, alone, or in a group, the Productive Thinking framework and tools in this book are solid, user-friendly and will support you through the tough work of creating lists and selecting options.
I taught in a business faculty for 19 years and I searched for a book that would show college students how to improve their thinking. I wanted a book that would give them a generic model they could use in all subjects and that would help them when they got 'stuck' on any problem. This is the book. This is what I wanted on my reading lists. This is not a textbook, but it is a great addition to any library; personal, professional or academic.
"If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got." This book shows you how you can get something new from your mental efforts...and that's good if we are to create a better future.
