An exciting paranormal suspense.

Psychic abilities, just like so many other human traits, are passed from one generation to the next. Sarah didn't consider her psychic abilities a gift but a curse. With the voices came pain, grief, and terror. Sarah insisted that her daughter ignore her talent in the hopes that it would fade away. She wanted Megan to have a `normal' life. It was wishful thinking on Sarah's part. Megan could ignore the voices, but they wouldn't go away.

When Megan witnessed her mother's murder, the voices intensified. She was a Listener and couldn't break free. If not for Neal Grady, she would have died with her mother.

Neal Grady was a government agent and a psychic in his own right. He failed to protect Sarah from the madman hunting her, but he would protect Megan. He blocked the voices and gave her a `normal' life.

The illusion of normalcy held for years, but Megan's life was built on lies. Like her mother, Megan was a Pandora, a Listener. When the maniac intent on killing all Pandora's locates Megan, the house of cards tumbled down. Neal Grady reentered her life.

It was a race against time as Neal and Megan searched for the ledger that documented the Devanez family history. The ledger, dating back hundreds of years, tracked the descendants and documented their psychic abilities, known and unknown. In the hands of Molino, the madman, there would be a bloodbath.

Pandora's Daughter is an excellent read with nonstop action and a little history and romance thrown in. It's well worth reading.

One of the Best Books I have ever read

Pandora's Daughter is the first book by Iris Johansen that I have ever read. It is undoubtedly one of the BEST books I have ever read. I am now searching for other books by this author.

The story is gripping without a dull moment. Some critcisms have been leveled at the behavior of the heroine as childish...but in reality..people are not always the most mature in their behavior. I found it inthralling and can't wait to see if her other books are half as good.

Really like this book!

This book was fast-paced with interesting Dean Koontz-like psychic/paranormal activity, well-developed characters, steamy but not-too-graphic relationships, interesting character development. A fun book. I was in for the weekend and couldn't put it down. I've never read an Iris Johansen book before, but I'll definitely check out what else she's written.

Love Iris Johnansen...but I only like this book

I've been a fan of Iris Johansen forever (I think my first book I read by her was Ugly Duckling..a must read!). I was so excited to read this book and did read it..from start to finish. It had a great concept, about psychic ability, healers, etc. But Iris's style seems to have changed in this book and I agree that the constant denial of facts by the heroine was tiring and repetitive. This is more indicative of a typical romance writer and not something I expected from Iris. That said..I read it from start to finish, enjoyed the story line, mystery, suspense and of course Romance! I don't regret getting or reading this book. Bring us another one Iris!
