Money well spent

Cracking the CBEST is well worth the money if only for the practice exams (but you get only two). Although I found them to be slightly easier on the whole than the actual CBEST, the peace of mind it brought me made this a purchase I don't regret. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this book (or another in the series) again.

Great Preparation Tool

With the help of "Cracking the CBEST," I was able to pass the first time. I truly believe that this book was key. It not only offers practical strategies for taking the test, it also breaks down the Reading, Mathematics, and Writing sections so one is well-prepared on test day. It is the only preparation book that I bought, and it was the only one that I needed.

An outstanding guide

What an excellent book. The insight and advice that this book gave really helped take away a lot of the anxiety I felt towards the CBEST. I was certain I'd fail the math section but, after reading and practicing, I scored almost perfect on the math section and passed the whole CBEST on my first try. Thanks to this book, I knew what to expect, was calm, and had more than enough time to finish each section. Buy it! It is well worth the money!

The only book you'll need

This book is very clear and will be the only book you'll need. I passed with flying colors on my first try and this is the only book I used to study. It comes with two practice exams in the back of the book. I highly recommend doing the first exam in chunks. For example, after you read and study the math section of the book do the math section of the first test. Do the same with the verbal and writing sections. This REALLY helps the material sink in. Then once you've read the book and done the first test in chunks pick a day to do the second exam in its entirety. You'll have the material down pat after this. Good Luck.

This is the ONLY book you need!

This book was the ONLY book I needed to pass the CBEST. The prep tests were really great but the BEST part about this book is the many tips it offers. I truly believe it was those tips that helped me pass. Some tips were simple, such as "answer ALL questions, even if it's only a guess" and other tips were more complex, such as ways to fully address the topic of an essay and how to manage your time so that you can pass all 3 sections in one sitting. Oh, and don't forget to take the 2 Practice tests! The questions were VERY similar to those on the actual test. BUY THIS BOOK! IT'S A GREAT INVESTMENT!!! (Then resell it or give it to a friend after you PASS!)
