Uh, huh?
I am so relieved to read the reviews that agree with me! I thought it was "just me"- I really didnt enjoy this one. I agree with all the other reviewers almost 100%. I cant write anything here that hasnt been said- bizarro "supernatural" elements put in and Deb and Rita reduced to irritating harpies. The brief (and I mean brief) appearance of Doakes was pointless and couldve been a very very interesting part of the book but wasnt taken anywhere.
Not as bad as all the reviews say
It is probably wrong to give this 5 stars, I am only doing it to even out the score a bit on here because I didn't think this book really was as terrible as so many people have expressed here. I would give it 3.75 stars. I got this book at Christmas and put off reading it until April because of all the awful reviews here, I thought, maybe I should just sell it. I started it and I kept waiting for it to turn awful. It never did. I agree that it may not be as sharp and captivating as the first two books, but if you enjoyed those, you may still like this one. I had fun reading it.
It seems the main problem people had was that this book attempts to explain what
Dexter
's
Dark Passenger
is - Jeff Lindsay came up with the character, why should he not be allowed to explain it the way he envisions it? If you don't like it, then write your own serial killer book. Ok, enuf rant. Give it a chance - there is still plenty of good Dexter moments in this book.

Dexter wouldn't do this.
Right over the wall. Why did he do this? Good thing it's all back to normal by the end. May be book 4 will be more "
Dexter
ish".
LOVED THIS ONE!
I received all three
Dexter books
for Christmas this year and this one is by far my favorite! I just finished it and my heart is beating out of my chest from the pure suspense and ending of this story.
I seriously cannot believe how low the ratings of this book are!!! I LOVE anything
dark
and mysterious (John Saul, Stephen King)..and isn't that what Dexter is all about?
I am so happy that this book is so daringly different and weird. Kudos for Jeff Lindsay for not dragging this Dexter book out like the second season of Dexter on Showtime.
Forever live the Dark Passenger ;]
