a "locative" art

I was told that our stories based on few and very well known narratives therefore a reader's chilled engagement in reading a book until its last page is not an easy task or almost an impossible one.
Of course there are some exceptions like William Gibson.

Good clean fun

To start of with, let me say I haven"t read Pattern Recognition, which is apparently a great read. I was a fan of William Gibson from the Mona Lisa Overdrive, Neuromancer days. I'm pleased to say, Gibson's style is way cleaner than it used to be. Some characters (the cyber-artists) where less engaging than others (the post KGB by way of Cuba free-running spies). The book has a bad guy that you love to hate, moves pretty quickly. Thought provoking? Kind of. Fun? Absolutely.
Just as a warning though: Some protagonists (who seem like mouth pieces for the author) express political beliefs that many people will disagree with. Then again, politics do kind of play into the plot.
