A Well-Hidden Secret

I found this book by accident, and am thankful that I read it! Its content reminds me of that of The Scarlet Pimpernel by Emmuska Orczy. Additionally, the Zorro in this book inspired the production of the familiar Zorro comics, TV show, movie, etc. McCulley grabs the reader's attention on the first page, and leaves the reader sad that the story must end. He weaves a tale of love and bravery, those characteristics being is the essence of the Zorro that so many people know and love.

EXCEPTIONAL!!!!

Johnston McCulley out did himself when he wrote this book! I recommend this to everyone! The action, the suspense...the romance! I know see why Douglas Fairbanks Sr. did the movie! The Fox of the Night is the Cunning in the Books!

The Fox Lives Forever!

Zorro has been my all-time favorite hero since childhood....this book started my love affair that's lasted 35 years! A great starting point; after reading this, go rent the movies! Mark of Zorro (Tyrone Power, Linda Darnell, Basil Rathbone - Mask of Zorro w/ Banderes, Hopkins, Jones).

That's the one

If you are a fan of the original Zorro and you really want to know how everything started, you're going to love this book. The pace, the thrilling suspense that is created from the beggining, it's just awesome.

Excellent

This novel contains everything from action to comedy to romance. As you read, you feel as if you are a third person, actually there in that time period watching the story unfold before your eyes. McCulley's use of wprds are strong and detailed. The novel is well written and the characterization is wonderful. I recommend this book to anyone anywhere!
