It made me think of the old ways

My father and grandfather bought me this book when I went to visit father on the second weekend of November. On the drive I was told tales by Grandfather PSP and listened to the songs of Grandmother Ipod.

This book tells the story of an ancient bear spirit who learns the true meaning of Christmas. It was easy to read and water resistant (although not water PROOF, I caution).

Mother stopped on the way home and bought me a milk shake and we rented Juwanna Mann to watch in The Great Hummer waiting in the car while Mom won 300 dollars playing Keno at the Fireworks Casino near Grandfather Wal Mart on the interstate. Recommended!

Book Review

A couple of weeks ago I picked up the book Touching Spirit Bear, and I knew nothing about it. Now that I read it, I want to inform people about Touching Spirit Bear, so now you will have an idea of what it's about.
The main character in this book is Cole Mathews, a troubled young teen that lies, steals and destroys every thing as he said in the book "no one crosses Cole Mathews and get away with it!" Another important character is Garvy. Described at the beginning as a paid babysitter. Near the end he is more of a friend. One other important character is Edwin. He is an old Clinket elder. Edwin gives Cole an atow a special clinket blanket. This blanket along with Edwin himself helps Cole. All of them behave differently. In the beginning Cole lies his way out of jail and in to Circle Justice, an old form of punishment. In the middle Edwin and Garvy save Cole after Spirit mauls him Bear that isn't supposed to be on that island. In the end you have to decide did he change or not.
I bet you want to know where it takes place, don't you? There are two different settings. One is the island off the cost of Alaska. A few events on the island are the totem and dances. Every time Cole does something, on the island, he fells he can learn from he dose a dance of the beaver, bear, ETC. After the dances Cole would carve something into the totem to show what he learned. The next thing I want to talk about is the pool and ancestor rock. Cole would carry the rock to the pool, strip, and soak. After done he go to the big hill and roll the rock down the hill to expel anger. Finally the thing I want to tell you about that happened on the island is the mauling by Spirit Bear. Cole was there three days after he got to the island. The other setting is Minneapolis. Three things that happen there is his dad would drink and then beat him senseless. Cole had to live in the detention center with a steal door. The last thing is Cole beat up Peter Drical. Now peter has physic and emotional problems.
After reading this book I figure people who will like this book are people whom like actions, thrillers and suspense. This book is for ages of 9 to 17 because of genera and reading skill. By Ben Mikaelsen, published by Harper Trophy, 180 pages.
When I first thought about reading Touching Spirit Bear, I was a little wary. Now its one of my favorite books and I hope you enjoy it.

Touching Bear Spirt

If you thought getting under arrest was bad it can get worse. The fact that a lot of the books that are about the good and the bad and the same usually the good wins the bad loses but this story it is the bad that is prevailing, this book is full of excitement if you thought going to prison fun to hear about this story is just for you with all the action it will amaze you in the coolest way.
Cole Matthews a man that always causes trouble. Peter Drisal a 9th grade boy that Cole has picked on for a life time final Cole gets in a fight with Peter and takes him out cold. Garvey an Indian patrol officer takes Cole to jail until the court knows what to do with him. After the council of justice was done arguing about his fate they told him would be send to an isolated island until a further fate. Once Cole gets there he is furious He burns every thing that he needs. So as he burns everything he hunts for food and try's to attack a bear and face his left leg and right arm were clawed to death. Cole encounters with Peter once again an island. If you want to find more about the situation read the book!
This is a great book that is not part of a series but a book that should be a series. The amazing author by the name of Ben Mikaelen makes this amazing book. This book is a lot about the honor of inmates of jails and they live by the power of cell guards. I recommend this book for the ones who love action and adventure. Kids over 11 years old should read this book with great pride of this wonderful story. I just told you about the wonder full book of Touching Sprit Bear. I look forward to seeing your review too after reading this book.

Touching Spirit Bear

Even though Cole is a bad man with a lot of anger, he eventually calms down. The story of the book Touching Spirit Bear is about a boy and his name is Cole and he was always getting into trouble with the law and he is really evil. So one day he killed someone and he had to go to court and they gave him two choices. One choice was to go to jail and the other choice was to go to an island for one year without any thing so he took the island. So all they gave him a box full of pots and pans and he took a lighter so the first thing he dose burns everything down so he had nothing so then he seen spirit bear. And it attacked him and he broke his arm and if you want to see what happens next read the book and se what happens next.
These are most of the characteristics of this book are it is a fiction book, adventure, so that is what I think but if I would of killed someone and had a choice of going to a jail or go to the island I would go to jail because in the island you can starve to death. And if I go to jail I could meat a person and they would have my back. I would recommend this book because it was really good, and it makes you start thinking if you are really evil like him.
So if you ever read this book you can judge if he is such a bad person. If you had a choice of jail or the island what would you choos.

Book Review
"You have officially been banished to Alaska." This is what happened to Cole Mathews, a ninth grade boy from Massachusetts with a huge anger problem. His parents were those kind of people that just let their child do almost anything. When your parents finally care when you do something that really messes up your reputation as parents it's a really bad thing. This is what happened to Cole. His parents never were sober until he had done something that really messed up his reputation.
This is the part that really hurts Cole, because he lost his first chance on the island. I thought that for sure he was going to jail. Then out of the blue, he got his second chance. If I were the judge, I would send him to jail myself. This time he had to rebuild his shelter all by himself. Me, on the other hand, I would put him behind bars for a long time. Anyway that is my review on Touching Spirit Bear.
