An Excellent Well-Rounded View of A Relationship

After reading Margaret's book, "The Real Deal", I was anxiously awaiting the other side of the story. The story from Max's perspective and the insights into his relationship was exciting. I started and could not put the book down until I finished. The overlap was just enough, but would not prevent a reader who has not read the first book from enjoying this one. The complexity of the relationships was well developed and the story carried me through many emotional reactions. I found myself totally engaged in reading the story. For once the male character had dimension, thoughts and feelings. I would recommend this book if you're looking for an engaging, quick, enjoyable read.

I could not put this book down.

I grew up with the author in Jamaica, New York. I am so proud of her creative writing ability. Both of her novels immediately caught my interest. Both of her books tell it like it is, no sugar coating and no hollywood. Keep writing Maggie (only I can call her that) and we all love you her in New York.

Peace,

Emma D. King

A GREAT READ!

I could not put this book down. The book continues the story of Max and Carol Ann,(The Real Deal)this time from Carol Ann's perspective. The author retells some of the events and it's really interesting how the characters perceive situations and the way they really are. Normally in relationship novels we have upwardly mobile characters dating the same in this book we have handsome loving and strong Max who has made it and tries to help Carol Ann who is working hard but is still struggling. I really like the writing style Ms. Hodge certainly has a way with words.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Margaret Johnson-Hodge, the author of The Read Deal, an enjoyable and interesting book, has given us another offering, and this time, she has out done herself. A New Day is a book that had me thinking about the characters when I wasn't even reading the book, and especially after I finished the book. I wanted more. By the way, its a sequel to The Real Deal. I highly recommend this book.
