EXCELLENT BOOK!

I have read LOTS of books; from science fiction to non-fiction books about animals. I had never really read much fantasy, though, except for Harry Potter and a few others. I was browsing a few weeks ago in the library when I came across this book, and I have always been a big horse fan, and always loved anything to do with horses or any horse-type creatures, so I checked it out. Now, it sounded good when I read the inside summary, and the excerpt on the back, but this book was even better than I expected! Like I said before, I have read LOTS of books, so many in fact, that sadly I do not remember most of them, even if I really loved them. Yet this is one of the best books I've ever read, and I will NOT forget this one! In fact, I intend on buying it as soon as I find it somewhere. That way, I can read it time and time again! This is not one of those books you read once, and never read again. This book will keep you coming back again and again. It has memorable characters and places, a very good plot, and is well written. I also love this book because it has given me an unquenchable thirst for more fantasy, and I just can't get enough! Before this book, I never knew what to say when people would ask me what my favorite type of books are, yet now, I have an answer; FANTASY!! Now, READ THIS BOOK!! :)

WHY DID IT HAVE TO END?????????????

Oh my gosh. I just finished the book and I WANT TO READ THE NEXT ONE!!!!! I couldn't put this one down. I was reading it during class. I was reading during dinner and before I went to bed. Coville does a GREAT job at describing the characters. From Cara to the delvers. This book was so great, I-I can't express it in words.( if they would let me, I would have rated it 10/5) It's just a really great book and I can't wait 'till I can get my grubby little fingers on the next book!! :)

a fantastic story

this is the best book. I read it when I was nine years old.It was my favorite book for a really long time and still rates pretty highly on a short list. It is a really beautiful book and I have been waiting for a sequel for seven years! I am so glad it finally came out! all I have to say is that if you haven't read it, go read it!

"El Salvador"a 14 year old reader

Cara raced up the stairs knowing that the evil man was after her. She heard the 11th ring of the bell. Had her Grandmother actually asked her to jump from the top of the tower? This is the very exciting beginning about the most thrilling fairy tale ever told. This story unravels in the Land of Luster, the world of the Unicorns.
Cara is sent to the Land of Luster to give a magical amulet to the Unicorn Queen. The amulet is important because it opens the doorway to be able to enter the Land of Luster. There, Cara meets new friends that join her on her quest. Her friends are Lightfoot the Unicorn, Dimblethum which is a bear-like animal, and the Squijum which is a playful monkey. On their quest they meet with many enemies including the Hunter who is the main enemy that is after the amulet the whole time. The Hunter is after the amulet because he wants to have the power to enter Luster and kill all the Unicorns. The other enemies that are quite disturbing throughout the story are the Delvers. The Delvers are like little goblins that live underground and are the worst enemies of the Unicorns.
I really enjoyed this book because it had many twists and turns that really make the story exciting and suspenseful, because you don't know what to expect. I thought this book was very well written because the author used many details to help you understand what's going on. The author, Bruce Coville, gives you exquisite details on the scenery and the characters to make you feel like you are actually in the story.
I would recommend this book to people who like fantasy and adventure. I think that the age range would be 11-14 years old, because this book isn't hard to read and it has pretty easy vocabulary. I really enjoyed reading this book and I hope you will too.
