Ann Rule is at her best!!!

I have been reading Ann Rule books for years, and the first book that I read was If You Really Loved Me, and I was engrossed from page one. The characters in the book are so real, that you feel that you've known them all your life. It is a change to have an author that can take a henious crime and write about it in a way that is readable to anybody. For the true crime buff, Ms. Rule's books must have a permenant place on your shelf.

Engrossing reading

This was the first of Ann Rule's books I read, and now I'm a true fan. What a story! As the tale unfolds, you learn more and more about what a sick man/father/husband this guy was. The things he put his young, gullible family members through were amazing. He was a true egomaniac, as well as an expert brainwasher. A great read

a must read

'If you really loved me' imo is one of ann rules best books.. I found David Brown to be one of the most despicable humans on planet earth.. How a father could stoop so low as to manipulate his 15yr old daughter into killing her step mother is beyond me.. even worse he tried to get her to kill herself .. had the pills he gave her not caused her to vomit, she just may have died.. the way he manipulated the women or girls in his life was sickening.. Unlike so many murderers there didn't seem to be any trauma in his growing up years,, why he did these awful things.. seemed to be strictly for control purposes and money.. I have a particalar hatred for people who talk others into murderering for them.. I also have read all of her books.. and am anxiously awaiting a new one..

Your heart goes out to Cinnamon

I have just finished this book; the first I've read by Ann Rule, and have been engrossed from the first page. As soon as I finished it, I scanned the Internet to find out what had happened to the main characters; especially Cinnamon Brown, the poor young 14 year old girl that was locked up for the crime that her father brainwashed her to do. I was so pleased to discover that she has been released from prison and is happily married with a kid. I hope and pray she can put what her father did to her behind her, and get on with having a happy normal life. If you like a book with real people, real situations, and real emotions, get this book. You won't regret it.

Reading this book turned me into Ann Rule's biggest fan.

This book was the first of Ann Rule's that I ever read. Now I own all of them!! It tells the great tale of a young girl who was brainwashed, and convinced by her father to murder her step-mother. Ann Rule dos a great job of telling all aspects of this story without describing too many of the gory detail. There are great pictures that help you keep the characters straight and help you realize that this amazing story is actually true. The story doesn't end with the discovery of the guilty pary, all the court proceedings and aftermath are almost as interesting as the main story itself. This is definatelty a book I could read in one sitting
