A tale of a lost boy in a world that doesn't understand him

Gary Boone is a boy in middle school. He is kind of odd. He always makes jokes. That's all he ever does - make jokes. He thinks his jokes are hilarious, but no one else does. A school talent show comes up, and he decides to sign up as a comedian. So he does, and is ridiculed by his calssmates. Will he ever be accepted? This is a classic tale of a lost boy confused at what life is about. This is a great and funny book for children ages 7 to 11.

Enjoyable!

Gary Boone is a boy in middle school that makes a joke out of everything. After a while, though, you want to tell him to get serious for a change. I thought the story was humorous, but not as good as some of Sachar's other books. I wasn't disappointed by it, but felt it was a little overdone.

This is a good book. One of Sachar's best

I'm a fan of Sachar and this one rate's up there with my personal fave, "There's a Boy In The Girl's Bathroom". He has a strange way of combining humor and charm and a good story together. This is just a good book!

A return to the characters of Someday Angeline

A happier sequel to Someday Angeline, written by a now-veteran writer. Goon really comes into his own as the main character, and his eventual triumph is astoundingly believable, thrilling, and heartwarming. The only thing I felt it lacked was more Angeline, and that's just a personal thing.

This book is about a boy named Gary Boone or Goon to you Mr. Well, I shouldn't be telling you about this because you would know about it if you did you homework. Shame on you. Shame, shame. Bad boy
