Exceptional characterizations

The Gears' novels are marvelous, and this is one of the best. What I most enjoyed is the very realistic and entertaining characterizations, particularly of the traveling group of characters that included the Contrary. I have rarely seen such wonderful characterizations in science fiction. A hard book to put down. Highly recommended.

A Wonderful Series!!!

This whole series has been one of the most enjoyable I have ever read! I coudn't put any of these books down! I found myself thinking about the characters when I wasn't reading, and then hurring home so I could read somemore. I love these books and can't wait for more!

The First North Americans Series People of the Lakes

This whole series has been wonderful to read. You can really feel the past around you while you read you become apart of the story and you can feel your History come alive

Exceptional writing!

This book looks intimidating, with it's seven hundred something pages, but once you start reading, you can't stop! I've never gone through a book so quickly before, staying up often all night because I wanted to know what happened next! The humor in the story has you laughing out loud, and the traumas have you crying along with the characters. The adventure is so wonderful that you can't wait to read it again, and you'll remember it forever, and reccommend it to your friends. A phenomenal achievement

Very, very, very, good!

Some of my friends have wondered how I could read a book this long without losing interest-- I tell them to read it! A very enthralling story with the charm of all the Gears' books. Green Spider's hilarity and wisdom are something hard for the great Black Skull to understand, yet in the end, he would give his life for Green Spider. This delightful story has a surprisingly modern tint to it. This book is recommended to everyone!
