Intriguing cyber-thriller...
Dr. Brett Russell, a prominent AIDS researcher, is murdered on the eve of a conference to present his breakthrough discovery to the world. His computer is hacked by someone calling himself CyberGod and Russell's research is obliterated. Uber-programmer Joanne Gravitz is called upon to help find CyberGod and solve the mystery.
COLD
EYES
, Romina Wilcox' debut novel, is fast-paced, suspenseful, and full of twists with a surprise ending. Techies will appreciate the computer details more than will non-techies, but the mystery and romance aspects will capture readers' attention.
I look forward to reading more from Ms. Wilcox!

Will the real murderer please stand up?
This book opens with a murder, and the reader is never quite sure who the bad guy is until the very end. The author has provided a number of viable suspects, all with means and motive, and keeps the identity of the murderer well concealed until the very end. I had suspicions about who committed the crime, but changed my mind at least once during the book. While the book gets off to a bit of a slow start, the tension builts nicely in the second half and in the end, I found it hard to put down. This is a good first novel, though I found some of the dialogue to be forced and unnatural. There were places where the characters were talking about what they were doing in ways that just didn't seem natural. Other than that, though, I really enjoyed this book and hope to read more from this promising new author.

Cold Eyes - A Must Read!
I was a little worried at the beginning... I thought it was going to be predictable...WRONG! I am usually pretty good at unraveling the cloud-covered truth to a plot. Throughout this book, I made several wrong presumptions and took the bait of each clever twist.
I was pleased with the nice blend of action, mystery, suspense, and romanticism that Romina was able to weave into a beautiful story.
I highly recommend this book! I look forward to any future novels by Romina Wilcox.
He did it.NO, HE did it!
If you need a "take me away" experience, this novel is it. The reader starts out thinking it will be another predictable detective novel but finds that there is so much more within the cover. The artful character development is purposeful and along with the investigators in the story you find yourself looking in different directions as the plot unfolds.
For the duration of the read, the reader will find them self living vicariously through Joanne. As a modern day Elizabeth Bennett she has your heartbeat racing as she takes her heart, brains and conviction into the central investigation.
A fantastic first for Romina Wilcox. She will rate with Dan Brown and Tom Clancy in the very near future.
WARNING! This novel is addictive and you just can't put it down! In the end you are sorry for a conclusion and look eagerly for a sequel.

Could be a BLOCKBUSTER!
Romina Wilcox's writing is solid from the beginning to the end. She cast her characters in three dimensional ways, so ordinary yet so dynamic. Her imagery of Silicon Valley is picturesque and the plot unfolded beautifully. In the beginning,
Cold
Eyes
was simply a software that sniff e-mails. Well, Great, I thought. But the story took turn. In the end, COLD EYES is the answer to the "WHY". Why did he do it???? Clearly, the motive of ...[well, I'm not going to mention name,] lies on the color of the eyes. There were hints in the beginning, but very subtle. Readers....pay attention how the author describe the characters eyes.......Fascinating eyes that were almost like the color of her tears.... Evil eyes that stirred memory....Eyes the color of iceberg at Lake Louise in Banff....This story is a lot more engaging and emotion provoking that I thought. At times I wonder whether this is a true story.
I heard this is a sequel. I want to see Joanne and Jacobsen get married.
